Shop Safely at Countrywide Piano Centre

As the world slowly adjusts to our new ‘norm’ and the lockdown begins to loosen, we all now need to be more responsible than ever to avoid a new surge in cases. We must stay vigilant and take extra care to protect ourselves and others around us which means many of us may have to get used to a very a different lifestyle for now. Here are Countrywide we are dedicated to protecting you, our staff and ensuring we follow Government guidelines very carefully in the coming months to ensure you can shop safely, whist in our store. We’ve seen how our Country has come together these past few months, clapping for careers, delivery food to the vulnerable, keeping a safe distance whilst in supermarkets and remaining at home to save lives. We have never been so proud to be part of this Country and we intend to keep calm and carry on, as us Brits do best! We stand ready to ease back into normal life as best we can, and we know you’ll all support us every step of the way! We have carefully planned the reopening of our showroom on the 15th June and below are details of how we intend to move forward together, keeping you and our staff safe is our number one priority!

First and most importantly, we are asking everyone to keep a 2 metre distance here in the showroom between yourself and the Countrywide Piano staff. Government guidelines require us to allow 12.5 sqm of floor space per person, therefore we are limiting customer numbers to just 2 per family group at a time. For this reason, we ask that you telephone to book an appointment to view pianos at the showroom. Booking an appointment means no queues! You’ll simply be able to come on down and straight into our showroom! It also gives us the opportunity to spend more one on one time with you, to find out your needs and make sure we help you find exactly what you are looking for. Great news for us! It’s the one thing we love most, and we have missed so much the last few months!

The next change we’ve implemented are hand sanitising facilities now located in store for your use. We really need your support by using those facilities when browsing in the showroom. We all know the importance of washing your hands regularly to avoid the spread of the virus and we know you will all continue to do this as good practice; we really appreciate your help with this.

We have also introduced more frequent in-store cleaning routines with a particular focus on surfaces. Piano keys are cleaned after use therefore we request that you browse the showroom before narrowing your choice down to a selection of up to three pianos to try, or of course, if you prefer, we are more than happy to demonstrate the piano for you. With up to 100 pianos on the shop floor each with 88 keys, you can appreciate that amounts to a lot of cleaning! Therefore, we have had to introduce the selection trial of just 3 pianos. However, we are flexible, and would not refuse if you wanted to include 1 or 2 more!

We want to ensure we can offer you all of our normal services, safely so with regards to piano deliveries for your peace of mind, our in-house delivery crew observe strict social distancing within the guidelines of “Safer Working Together Practices”. This includes working in fixed pairs with in-van dividing screen. They also wear face masks and face shields together with the use of hand sanitiser before and after every delivery. We ask that you have all doors open and ready on arrival of our delivery crew and leave a sheet of paper exactly where you would like the piano placed in order to limit contact. If anyone in the home is self-isolating or is feeling unwell, please contact us as we must postpone and re-arrange delivery.

Lastly, we are very happy to be able to offer our piano tuning service once more. Since before Lockdown, we have had in place safer working practices and we continue to follow these strictly to keep you safe in your home. Our piano tuner uses hand sanitiser before and after each visit and will wear disposable gloves to limit the exposure to you and to him. To help us, we ask that you ensure the piano lid is clear of books photos etc from the piano. Although we love and appreciate your warm hospitality regretfully, we will also have to refuse your kind offers of tea or coffee at this time too.

For the safety of our customers and everyone who works at Countrywide Piano Centre, we’re carefully following the government’s COVID-19 Secure Guidelines around workplace safety. We’re continually monitoring this guidance and updating whenever it is needed. We can’t wait to serve you once again in store and we will ensure we do all we can to keep you safe and well whilst you are with us! #StayAlert
