We deliver to most mainland UK postcodes with some limits due to distance so please check with us re pricing . As a guide, Upright pianos to ground floor start, most but not all postcodes, From £60 – £100+ Grand pianos from £150-00. Steps or stair work will be quoted for as required. I am a complete beginner…how can I choose a piano when I can’t even play yet?
At Countrywide Pianos, our aim is to offer as much or as little assistance as is required. We will always offer to demonstrate any piano of your choice and explain the differences between makes and price ranges. A free piano guide is available in store which customers find easy to understand and also on this web site.
If I buy a piano how soon can it be delivered?
From stock, we can often deliver with 48 hours – terms and conditions apply. We deliver pianos using our own crew and own vehicles to ensure a prompt and efficient piano moving service.
I have under floor heating – is that a problem for pianos?
Yes it can be, so please tell us BEFORE you buy a piano – we are able to offer lots of advice and we would recommend a special piano mat to protect your piano.
Should I buy a second hand Yamaha U1 or Yamaha U3?

How often will my piano need tuning?
We recommend at least twice a year for all pianos. Twice a year is a minimum, for teachers, schools, professionals 4 – 6 times a year is considered usual.
My “soft” pedal doesn’t work why?
We are often asked this question when we come to tune your piano and in upright pianos ( different on grand pianos) so in brief, On most upright pianos, all that happens when you press the left hand pedal is that the hammers are moved nearer to the strings – this does not alter the sound very much but simply shortens the striking force/distance between hammer and string.
I am looking for a piano teacher, how do I find one?
We hold a list of some of the local piano teachers in the area, most of whom we know personally. Please call for a copy.
Do we offer piano storage ?
Yes we do, short term ideal for when new carpets are being fitted and also long term monthly and yearly storage. Please see our page PIANO MOVING for full details
